Donny Hathaway - Someday We’ll All Be Free

dizzy at lunch, seattle, wa; 29 june 2007

Honest to God, sometimes I can’t speak to anyone,

and the only thing that keeps me from folding myself up at the end of my bed in the fetal position for days at a time is music.

The decision everyone makes is between the abject loneliness of closing themselves up in a box and the skin-shaking terror of stepping outside of it.

M.I.A. - Hit That, XR2

hiding from the sun, seattle, wa; 19 april 2007

The absence continues, and I still find myself cocooned up with too much to say to actually let it come out.

I don’t know when this will end, but I think maybe soon. When I was at the licensing office this morning for my car, I smiled at the licensor, and it was genuine.

And he smiled back, and it was genuine.

In the interim, though, Kala came out this week, so I am happy.

I love M.I.A. with my whole body.

“Hit That” just fucking kills me, and I’ve had it for a month or two now, and I anticipated it coming out on the album, so I have held off on sharing it, but it’s not on it sooooo…I don’t know where it shows up out in the world, but I think I found it from this treasure trove of all things M.I.A., which was supplied to me by the lovely Nomi, and which I highly suggest you check out.

And “XR2″…well fuck. Whistle whistle blow blow, here we here we go go. I mean really. Really.

I hope you’re all ok, exes, ohs, things.

Adam Joseph - You’re Mine, Faggoty Attention

Oh girls. I know I’ve been MIA, but what can I say? I’ve been going through it.

The beautiful Niki is passed out in my bed behind me, we had a night (no, not that kind of night, you perv), it was lots of fun. A momentary diversion from whatever it is that I am trying to sort out at the moment.

No, I don’t think I really want to talk about it, other than to say that it’s part loneliness for sure. The other parts? Well, that’s what I am sorting out.

Anyway, I’ve been in a strange place lately. The only stuff I want to listen to is Stars of the Lid and bitch tracks.

That and beautiful neo-soul and R&B. To that end, let me share with you who’s been turning me out today, the most beautiful lil’ white soul hummingbird of a man that you could ever hope to come across, Adam Joseph. I’m probably the only person who frequents this page that will enjoy these tracks, but I truly believe it’s because most people don’t appreciate the right things. Get into it, bitches. Gag on it and lick it up.

No kidding, for whatever reason only Stars of the Lid, Jill Scott, bitch tracks and “You’re Mine” smooth me out. Unusual combo? Perhaps, but that’s the beauty of me.

I’m including “Faggoty Attention” for obvious reasons; if you don’t understand we probably shouldn’t talk for awhile. If you do understand (especially the smoothing out powers of “You’re Mine”), please drop me a line, we might get on real well, and I could use more people like you in my life. Seriously.

I hope you’re all well, keep on rockin’ in the free world, exes and ohs, things.

PS: Sadly, none of the sets from the first night of Field Day were recorded, so although I will be recording the set here in my apt by myself and then posting it, just know when you hear it it’s not live, it’s memorex.

PPS: YWA, I miss you, I can’t wait to see you, I’m ok (though strange), let’s talk soon, xxox, stuff <3.

PPPS: I tried acai juice for the first time tonight, it's good.

PPPPS: I'm including the videos because I love you. No, not for play, but for real.
